Librarian Wardrobe

Not always buns and sensible shoes, librarians at various types of libraries have different styles (and dress codes). Check it out here or submit your own.

1. Jacqueline Mabey, Brooklyn, NY; Erin Dunigan, Artbook/DAP, New York, NY; Sian Evans, Artstor, New York, NY

Especially loved the necklace on Sian.

2. Bill Sherfey, Preservation Technologies L.P., Cranberry Township, PA (Not technically a librarian)

Rocking the orange pants!

3.Ann Whiteside, The Harvard Graduate School of Design, Cambridge, MA

Stylish LBD - and awesome tights.

4. Leslie Jankowski, Columbus College of Art and Design, Columbus, OH

I think the picture says it all.

5. Anna Brooke, Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C.

Classic librarian style to which we can all aspire.

Props to Marcie Farwell for taking this batch of photos at ARLIS 2014!

Marcie grew up in California, made New York her home (off and on) for over 15 years and now finds herself in the wilds of upstate New York. She came to New York City to study architectural history and while you will catch her looking up to read dates on cornices, she earned her MLS degree last year and now spends her time working deep in the lovely Rare and Manuscript Collections at Cornell University, researching her next art piece, and sewing said art piece into the wee hours of the night.
